Women Veterans Program
Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement regarding our 2019 Women’s Leadership Symposium.
In partnership with the White House Equal Futures Partnership launched by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senior Advisor to the President Valerie Jarrett in 2012, Veterans Campaign created a special women's program to train emerging women veteran leaders to pursue a "Second Service" in civic and political leadership.
2015 Women's Symposium
A select cohort of 25 women veterans were selected for our first Veterans Campaign Women's Symposium in February 2015.
They were welcomed to Washington, D.C. by 9 members of Congress, 5 senior defense officials (including Undersecretary of the Army Patrick Murphy), and 225 of their fellow veterans and supporters at a Capital Hill reception.
The workshop began with keynote remarks from Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ), followed by classes at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial with top campaign professionals, leaders from the the national and state arms of both political parties, women's leadership organizations and PACs, and the Association of Former Members of Congress, and closed with a special curriculum designed by leading researchers at the Center for American Women in Politics.
2016 Women's Symposium
A select group of 25 women veterans were selected for our second annual Women Veterans Symposium June 17-18th, 2016 in partnership with Homefront Rising and the Atlantic Council's Millennium Leadership Program. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and partners, all participants had the opportunity to also attend a follow on Candidate Training Workshop in July, allowing us to expand the Symposium to the specific interests, challenges, and opportunities for emerging women veteran leaders and learn from a select cadre of political professionals, activists, academic researchers, and distinguished public servants.
