U.S. Congresswoman and Air Force veteran Martha McSally (R-AZ) meets with 2015 Women's Workshop Participants on Capitol Hill to share her path to a "second service" in Congress

In partnership with the White House Equal Futures Partnership launched by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senior Advisor to the President Valerie Jarrett in 2012, Veterans Campaign created a special women's program to train emerging women veteran leaders to pursue a "Second Service" in civic and political leadership.

A select cohort of 25 women veterans were selected for our first Veterans Campaign Women's Symposium in February 2015.

They were welcomed to Washington, D.C. by 9 members of Congress, 5 senior defense officials (including Undersecretary of the Army Patrick Murphy), and 225 of their fellow veterans and supporters at a Capital Hill reception.

The workshop began with keynote remarks from Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ), followed by classes at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial with top campaign professionals, leaders from the the national and state arms of both political parties, women's leadership organizations and PACs, and the Association of Former Members of Congress, and closed with a special curriculum designed by leading researchers at the Center for American Women in Politics

Partners

We are excited to build on the successes of 2015 with an expanded Women's Symposium, June 17-18th in partnership with Homefront Rising and the Atlantic Council's Millennium Leadership Program. Attendees will learn about the opportunities and challenges specific to women veterans pursuing civic and political leadership, how to lay the groundwork for their future success, as well as the skills necessary to win from leading political professionals, activists, academic researchers, and distinguished public servants.

Cost: $250 includes tuition, meals, registration fees, a ticket to the Friday night reception, and program materials, including a copy of our guidebook for veteran candidates, The Candidate's Field Manual.

Due to the generous support of sponsors, we are pleased to offer a tuition bundle, allowing participation in both the June 17-18 Women's Symposium and the July 9-10 workshop for only $495!
