Opportunities in Youth Education and Literacy
Interested in volunteering with local youth literacy programs or a post college career in education? George Washington University’s Veteran Service Initiative (VSI) will be hosting representatives from Jump Start, The New Teacher Project, Urban Teacher Center and DC Teaching Fellows at the National Veteran Center for a Q & A and discussion of opportunities available.
Additionally, the VSI is recruiting for a new pilot program to have small teams of student veterans reading to kindergardeners at Edward C. Mazique Parent Child Center in collaboration with Jump Start, an AmeriCorps program. Come learn more about how you can join this impactful team.
Attendees will also learn about how to gain teaching experience while pursuing a Masters degree after graduation and other alternative teacher certification programs.
