Washington seeks GOP nod in TX-30

Travis Washington Jr. has entered the race for United States Congress in the 30th Congressional district of Texas. Washington is running as a Republican and has served for more than two decades in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist. A graduate of Dallas Baptist University and Texas Christian University, Washington previously worked at the Pentagon as an action officer on the Air Staff and Defense Intelligence Agency. Goodwin Announces Candidacy

Joe Kearns Goodwin, a former Army Captain, has announced his candidacy in the race for State Senate in the third Middlesex district in Massachusetts. Goodwin, a Democrat, enlisted after 9/11 and was eventually commissioned as a Second Lieutenant combat arms officer. He is a graduate of Harvard University. More details here.

Mandel even with Brown in Ohio, new poll finds

Marine Corps veteran Josh Mandel has pulled even with incumbent Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, says a March 26th poll. Mandel closed Brown’s substantial lead after emerging as the GOP winner from a six candidate primary. A decisive 11% remain undecided. Read more here.

Waterworth Captures Democratic Nod in IL-18

Steve Waterworth, a veteran of the Air National Guard, defeated Matt Woodmancy on March 20th, to earn the Democratic nomination for 18th Congressional District. Waterworth will face a incumbent Aaron Schock in November, and attempt to capture the seat for Democrats for the first time since 1939.
