Speaker Series Event with Donald Rumsfeld on Sep. 29
Next Thursday, September 29th from 6-8pm, Veterans Campaign and the Reserve Officers Association will host a conversation with Secretary Donald Rumsfeld at our second Distinguished Speaker Series event at the Reserve Officers Association building on Capitol Hill. Secretary Rumsfeld will discuss his journey from the U.S. Navy to Congress, through his career in public life and how these experiences directed the progression of his life of service. Secretary Rumsfeld will host a period of Q&A following his remarks. There will be a brief book-signing at the conclusion of the event with priority given to early registrants. Copies of Secretary Rumsfeld’s recent memoir, Known and Unknown, will be available for purchase.
The event is open to the public, and there is no cost to attend. Please RSVP by clicking here, and forward this invitation to any veteran you think might be interested.
The event, which is co-sponsored by The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management, will be held in the 5th floor ballroom at ROA’s Minuteman Memorial Building at 1 Constitution Ave. NE, Washington, DC 20002. The Distinguished Speaker Series provides interested veterans with the chance to meet and interact with distinguished individuals who have successfully transitioned from the military to public life, and is also a terrific opportunity for networking and camaraderie. Veterans Campaign and ROA plan to jointly host six to ten similar events over the next year.
